Planning Permission Received at Birkdale Senior School

Planning permission has been given today (26/5/17) by Sheffield City Council for a newly landscaped main entrance and car park at Birkdale Senior School.  The site in the Broomhill Conservation Area is surrounded by mature trees, seen as a significant amenity within the area, and as such to enable the proposal the proposed construction makes use of porous surfaces on cellular base structures to enable no dig solutions close to the trees.  The new entrance arrangement will provide clear way-finding welcoming visitors to the school.  The increased car parking allows for more off street parking by staff and visitors, and both car parking and entrance increase the accessibility of the school.
